Oktoberfest in The Malt House

I had reasons to be cheerful last night and so went into The Malt House, Athlone. They are celebrating Oktoberfest all weekend and had just installed a tap for Schneider Weisse Blonde. When the gregarious barperson (I’m not sure if the term barmaid is PC anymore!) placed the stein in front of me I was immediately transported to a German beerhall! The beer has a fluffy white head and a honey and clove aroma. It’s almost too easy to drink and has a very pleasant aftertaste. If you haven’t yet celebrated Oktoberfest then make it your duty to head in to The Malt House over the next three days!
