Bo Bristle spotted in Tullamore!

image

Last night Hugh Lynch’s, Tullamore hosted a ‘Meet the Brewer’ evening with Dave Guilfoyle from Bo Bristle and James from Vanguard Distribution. Dave brought along samples of their IPA and Amber Ale. He talked us through the brewing process and gave us some hops and malt to examine and smell. Everyone loved their sticky hands after rubbing the hops to extract the fragrant oils. It made handshakes interesting anyway. It was a great introduction to how beer is produced and I think all present learned something of value. And everyone also got to taste the delicious end results.
It was my first visit to Hugh Lynch’s and I was very impressed. The finger food we were treated to was very good indeed, I especially liked the sliders. In addition to Bo Bristle IPA on draft they also have Kinsale Black IPA and Porterhouse, Trouble Brewing and Eight Degrees in bottles. I can guarantee that I’ll be back as the good news is that Tullamore will soon have it’s own Beer Club!
One of the best things about the night for me was getting to meet people that I only knew on Twitter, Facebook and Untappd. I only took one picture, that’s Ian 11pm Somewhere, Dave Bo Bristle and myself enjoying the Bo Bristle IPA. Wayne The Irish Beer Snob and his wife Janice also made the trip to Tullamore. I think I’ve made some new friends! Be sure to check out their podcasts and blogs if you haven’t already.
