The Nordic maverick Mikkeller has produced a few single hop IPAs and I picked up a pair of them. Single hop IPAs like these really showcase the hops. I had the Tomahawk beer first, unsure of what to expect. It is bitter for sure but there is also a spiciness and a few flowers. Only gorgeous.
And sure what else could I do only have the Nelson Sauvin next. A bird never flew on one wing et cetera. I have had beers which used this hop very well like Thornbridge’s Kipling. So I had some preconceived ideas with this one. It is more fruity and a little sweeter, even though it IS still quite bitter. Another well made beer but much to my own surprise I have to say I prefer the Tomahawk.
