Hardknott Rhetoric 1 is a ‘Star Anise Infused Quasi-Bombastic Belgique Quad’. This is a once off from the English brewers. They are trying to make unique and challenging beers and I don’t know if they have achieved their ends with this one anyway. It’s quite sweet and I think if they amped up the aniseed it might have tempered that a bit. It’s not different enough from other Belgian quads but it’s not a bad beer in it’s own right.
