There’s nothing better than sitting out on a sunny evening with your dinner and a beer. As the famous five were fond of saying ‘…food always tastes so much better in the open air with lashings of … beer!’.
I had the Camden Gentleman’s Wit accompanied with fish cakes. It was a winning combination that I would recommend all summer long. The beer is flavoured with bergamot and lemon so it’s quite dry and refreshing. It would work just as well on it’s own.
I wasn’t as big a fan of the Unfiltered USA Hell Lager. Strangely enough I preferred the ordinary Hells. I would like to try it again from a tap and see if that changed my mind. Here’s a great summer dessert. It’s a roulade in sandwich form.
I’m not a big fan of their Helles either… The Wit is lovely though 🙂
I may get to try them very near the source over the next couple of days and see how they are extra fresh…
Always tastes better… from my experience at least… Beer is a natural product and will deteriorate over time. I heard some people say that a wheat beer should never be older than 4 weeks (after conditioning of course)…
I’m looking forward to it so! 🙂
