Sheridan’s Food Festival is a celebration of great Irish produce held annually in County Meath.
Sheridan’s is best known as a fine cheese mongers so there was lots of beautiful Irish cheese but there was also a brown bread competition and cookery demonstrations from such luminaries as Richard Corrigan.
There was beer as well! Meath’s finest Bru had their Rua, Dubh and Ri on tap and Eight Degrees had brought their main three beers up from Cork. I opted for a pint of Ri the IPA from Bru. You can’t go wrong with one of those!
Walking around food stalls for a couple of hours would put the hunger on a lad and when I saw Rockin’ Rolls’ stand there was only one choice for me.
That’s right, the pulled pork! There was also live music and a bouncy castle and a huge slide which was great. Oh, the kids enjoyed it too!
There may be radio silence for a few days but don’t worry about me, I’ll be supping pints in London.
