Galway Bay Brewery have brought out the latest in their Voyager series. Last year’s was brewed with hops from New Zealand, this year American hops: Bravo, Citra, Amarillo and Cascade got thrown into the kettle.
I’ve had a couple of bottles of this, the first time, in my haste, I forgot to take a picture but I enjoyed it with an Indian take away. Tonight I had it with a homemade beef burger. That’s one of the things I love about IPAs, they go well with lots of different types of food, especially the spicy variety. This beer is a proper American style IPA, it has loads of hoppy, orangey aroma which follows through to the palate. It’s easy to drink. Actually it’s probably too easy with nary a hint that it’s 7.5%. I’m told you can’t order a pint of it in the Galway Bay Bars, that’s probably for the best! Check this out while you can, it’s a limited edition available from Bradley’s, Cork and O’Brien’s, nationwide. Sláinte!
