After a hard morning’s trek around Kildare Village I was in need of some grub and a beer. Harte’s was just up the road and had been on my ‘to visit’ list for a while.
My wife and I were very impressed with the fare on offer on the menu, specials board and beer list.
I went for a pint of White Gypsy’s Ruby Ale and the braised beef blaa. She who must be obeyed opted for the roast beef on sourdough. We’re simple creatures with simple tastes really. Both sandwiches were excellent and the accompanying skins and fries were pretty great as well.
For dessert we shared a delicious seasonal fruit crumble.
The whole lot came to about €32 which I thought very good value. The service was also prompt and friendly. An added bonus was the quick visit to Boyle’s Next Door Off Licence across the road where I picked up a litre of Brigid’s Ale. Not a bad Tuesday at all. Sláinte!
