Should beer be censored?

In most countries there is an age limit for buying and consuming beer. With Fuck Art This Is Advertising Denmark’s To Øl are really pushing a few boundaries simultaneously.
Today I ventured as far as Mullingar in my quest for beer (well I had to go there for a work meeting but two birds were killed with one stone). A fellow beer aficionado recommended The Old Stand’s off licence.  They have a pretty eclectic selection of beverages. This is where this label caught my eye.

And then I read the somewhat provocactive name! Apparently these labels have been censored in certain US states. The beer? Oh yes! It’s a Belgian style quadruple.  It’s very rich, another Christmas pudding! There is fruit and brown sugar which go nicely with the hops. It’s a good beer for the time of year but it is a little syrupy for my taste. Almost worth it for the ‘artistic’ label alone! Oh and by the way I am against censorship for the most part…

  1. You’d like Seattle – they have a slew of micro-brews – there was a corriander ale which was out of this world!
