The latest Rye River beer to get a ‘proper’ McGargles release is Francis Big Bangin’ IPA. It’s an American West Coast Style IPA. It’s hopped with Columbus, Mosaic and Simcoe. So it’s juicy, fruity and has a pleasant bitter tang. Or thang if you prefer. I liked it on draught in the RDS a few weeks back but I think the bottled version might be a little lighter or thinner, and could perhaps do with a touch more malt to round it out. That minor quibble aside it’s a very good IPA, but it’s 7.1% so a couple of bottles is enough for anyone. If you still have a problem with the branding put the bottle in the recycling bin and drink it from a glass! I’m not sure if they’re poking fun at hipsters with the label art but I have seen some of the lads working in the brewery and, I think it’s safe to say they don’t take themselves too seriously. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised. Sláinte!

Ah that’s brilliant! I will share that on the Facebook page!
Sounds really tasty!
Oh it is, and the icing on top is that no one expected it from them this time last year.
Are they a new brewery or did they seriously step up their game? Being in Western Canada I have never heard of them obviously.
Ha, both! I think they’ll admit themselves that they didn’t get off to a great start. They have crossed the Atlantic and are now available in NYC, just another couple of thousand miles to get to you!
Hey a rough start and great beer down the road is better than always sucking! Well that’s a good first step to New York but still unobtainable.
I’ll tell them to sort it out, Western Canada is their next target market!
Well if that is true I am excited. We love us our beer here!
I’m afraid it’s only my sense of humour, but I suppose anything is possible!
That was my assumption. Get on them though haha
