Only a Winter Ale!

image

Please excuse the pun but with reports of snow abroad today was the perfect time to pop open a Fuller’s Old Winter Ale. It’s rich amber in colour with an off white head. It’s not too dissimilar to the ESB from the same stable. There are three types of hop; target, challenger & northdown. They give it a pleasant bitterness and the maltiness is more of an aftertaste. It’s not a gimmicky beer overloaded with seasonal spices but instead a fine English ale that is easy to drink. The season is long so you’ve plenty of time to check this one out!
