Last Nablopomo, date with a Hooker

Once more dear friends into the breach.   I was in Galway’s Roisin Dubh this evening to see Little Green Cars.
Before the show we stopped at the Christmas Market in Eyre Square. There was a huge que for the beer tent so I gave that a miss and headed straight for Nick’s famous Cranky Yankee Corn Dog stand. The corn dogs were of his usual deliciously high standard.
In the Roisin I got a pint of the original West of Ireland micro brew Galway Hooker. I have been a fan of this beer for years, it’s one of the first Irish craft beers that I became aware of. Ronan and Aidan are a likeable pair of chaps and they were good enough to allow me  and a friend to have a look around their brewery. They have since gone from strength to strength and their bottles are now available nationwide. It’s an Irish Pale Ale with a lovely balanced taste. It’s one of the first hoppy beers I would have drank, it seems mild in comparison to many I have had since. That said it’s a great session beer and I find myself returning to it time and time again…
I’m going to ease of on the blog posts after doing 30 in November, there will still be a couple every week though so stay tuned! I may go and have a glass of water now…
Little Green Cars were excellent by the way!
