Anglo Indian Mash Up!

Th’other evening I had a fine tea of an Indian spiced pastie with a Thornbridge Jaipur India Pale Ale. So that’s an English meal ( Cornish Pastie) given an Indian spin with the addition of a lot of cumin, garam masala and some coriander. Jaipur is itself made with Centennial and Chinook hops from America and English Maris Otter malt. It’s a relatively light IPA that would be a great beer of a Summer afternoon but it worked as well, if not better with my Winter repast. The soundtrack for the meal was ‘Across the Universe’ by The Beatles, an English band experimenting with the Indian sitar. I swear I didn’t plan that!
