Buxton Brewery’s Beers

image

Buxton Brewery is new to me but when I saw the bottles on the shelf in the off licence they whispered to me. ‘Take me home and take my top off!’ As Oscar Wilde or one of his buddies said ‘I can resist anything except temptation and beer with pictures of hops on the label’. Axe Edge is a strong IPA with some of my favourite hops Nelson Sauvin and Citra in the brew. It’s wonderful.

On a lighter note Moor Top is a golden ale which is about half the strength but it’s still pretty darn tasty thanks to the Chinook hops which give it an American ale flavour.

Black Rocks is one of those BIPAs or a Cascadian Dark Ale if that’s your term of choice. One of the better ones I’ve had.

Jaw Gate is the most boisterous of the bunch. It’s described as an American Pale Ale but I’d label it an IPA myself, a really good one at that! Very glad to have made your acquaintance Buxton Brewery.
