Anchor’s Big Leaf Maple Autumn Red is just the ticket if you aren’t able for any more Pumpkin Ale. It’s a big warm malty ale and it’s perfect for this time of year. Speaking of this time of year, I am a little curious about how an American company even knows the word Autumn, I thought ‘Fall’ was madatory over there! I got this one in Maguire’s, Athlone.
On the subject of Autumn Ales, Bru have a limited edition which is flying out of The Malt House, Athlone and Don’s, Moate. I have mentioned it here before but sure I couldn’t leave it out! I reckon it tastes more of Christmas than anything else but it hit the spot when I had one last night. And completely unrelated to beer here is a pumpkin cake with a cinnamon maple frosting made by my talented better half. Sláinte!
