Don’s Bar is only a short stroll from my house and they have a great selection of Irish Beer. It’s mostly in bottles but there’s a Bo Bristle tap as well. Full disclosure: I did give a little help with choosing some of the beers. If you can’t see from the picture there are beers on the shelf (and in the fridge) from Trouble Brewing, Black’s of Kinsale, McGargle’s, 8 Degrees, Porterhouse, Bru, Brehon, N17, St Mel’s, O’Hara’s, Galway Hooker and Reel Deel and that’s the Irish ones. There’s one each from Rogue and Kentucky and a pair from Fuller’s. For the fermented apple juice lovers there are ciders from Tempted, Scott’s, McIvor’s and Rekorderlig.
I have an Italian Beer Blogger coming to visit in a couple of weeks and am going to be delighted to introduce him to some of our native brews in Don’s. We are also going to hold another Moate Beer Club in early March, stay tuned here for more on that. Sláinte!
