Alltech’s Craft Brews and Food Fair began yesterday in the Dublin Convention Centre. I eventually found the media room and was able to collect my badge. That was no fault of the organisers, I just have a terrible sense of direction.
Myself and the lesser spotted Cider Correspondent started with a taste of Dan Kelly’s Cider, a still special for
the festival. I enjoyed it, despite not being a big cider fan.
I also enjoyed Black’s of Kinsale Hi Vis, which was a beautiful IPA. They won a medal for another of their IPAs: Rocketship.
I also got to sample a wee drop of Coisbo’s Russian Imperial Stout which won the Dublin Beer Cup.
The beer is aged in sherry casks and it’s epic. We were also schooled in the art of bottle opening by one of the Coisbo brewers.
We shall return tomorrow for a second visit, stay tuned for more. Sláinte!
