#CraftBeerUnLaoised2

My Father’s Day present was getting brought to #CraftBeerUnLaoised2, the second beer festival in Kavanagh’s, Portlaoise. To put the icing on the cake I won a pair of tickets on the Twitter competition run by the Irish Beer Snobs, the organisers of the event. You at the back shouting ‘fix’, whisht, everything the Beer Snobs do is above board!

I started off with Bo Bristle’s Gorse Flower Saison ( not Elderflower as previously stated, cheers Dave!) which is their second collaboration with Wild Irish Foragers. It certainly packed a flavourful punch. Lovely Summer beer.

Then I had a drop of the very tasty 12 Acres Pale Ale. Everyone in the place must have tried on their bowler hat at some stage!

I also enjoyed a drop of Trouble Brewing’s Deception IPA and White Gypsy’s Helles Lager and their Ruby Ale.

My wife, The Cider Correspondent, enjoyed a Tempted Summer Sweet which was being poured by James from Vanguard. James was getting in touch with his feminine side and I liked that idea so I did too.

Fair play to the Beer Snobs for putting on such a fun event. I may have an announcement to make this week that will please beer lovers in the Midlands, so watch this space. Sláinte!
