My year in (mostly) Irish Craft Beer: Part Two

image

Picking up where we left off, at the end of May I was at the first Irish Craft Beer Festival of the Summer, Bloom. There are gardens there as well?

I also had my first taste of Cavan’s first craft beer, O’Cleirigh’s, we got better acquainted as the year went on…

In June I tried this year’s BrewDog IPA is dead, it worked best when you blended the four beers!

I also attended the first of the Snob Summer Series at Kavanagh’s, Portlaoise. That was a good night!

Athlone Beer Club had a fantastic beer and food pairing evening in the Left Bank Bistro.

The whole family went to Cork at the end of June and I squeezed in visits to Rising Sons, The Bierhaus and of course Bradley’s.

In July I tried two brilliant new beers from Cork. 9 White Deer’s Black Lightning and Radik Ale’s Rubenesque.

At the end of July we launched the Midlands Craft Beer Festival in Don’s Bar, Moate with Marcus from Reel Deel and Liam from St Mel’s.

I hit the Skelly’s Beer Festival in August on a lovely Saturday afternoon.

The weather wasn’t quite as nice for the Midlands Craft Beer Festival in Moate!

But we made the best of it and made sure the pig stayed warm…

Everyone had a great day, I couldn’t ask for more! I’ll start the next post with the Irish Craft Beer Festival, but for now…sláinte!
