Cerveteca Lisboa

The second Craft Beer Pub I visited in Lisbon was Cerveteca Lisboa. This place is more focused on imported Craft Beer than Portuguese. That said they still had a couple on draught and a good few bottles to choose from.

I hastily chose my first beer as the taxi driver was waiting for me to get change to pay him. I went with Oitava Colina Vila Iolanda, a 9% Imperial IPA. I’m making starting big a bit of a habit.

This was my second beer from this brewery, I had their regular IPA from a food truck in Belém and I have to say I was very impressed with both of them.

I calmed down a bit with my next choice, To Øl Gose To Hollywood. This was only 3.8% and it nicely freshened up my palate like a salty sorbet.

I had a Hamer and Sikkle from De Molen after that. It’s a 5% English style Porter, it wasn’t bad, but I can’t say that I loved it. I found it a little hard going.

I finished up with Hoppin’ Frog’s DORIS the Destroyer, a 10.5% Imperial Stout. This is one of the nicest beers I have ever had. It’s rich and cake like as you would expect from a big Stout but it also has a hoppy fruity thing going on which keeps it interesting and means you want more of it. What a way to end the night! If you’ve had enough of Lisbon’s lagers and need a drop of BrewDog or something similar then this is the spot for you. Sláinte!
