Dungarvan’s Thai Wit

Kaffir Lime Leaves, Coriander, Galangal, Carmadom Seeds and Lemongrass. Standard beer ingredients? Right? Well we were making a Thai curry and coincidentally enough I had Dungarvan’s Thai Wit in the fridge. And you’ll never guess….but the beer and the curry had a lot of the same ingredients. Except chicken. You don’t normally put chicken in beer….they used to, years ago, but that’s a different story. It was definitely a complimentary food and beer pairing. The beer delivered more lemongrass and lime leaves and some sweetness whereas the curry was more on the spicy side while still including those flavours. We love lime leaves and coriander in this house. I had bottle 28 of a limited batch, I’m not sure how many more are out there but I recommend picking up a Thai Wit and flexing those culinary muscles, or get a Thai takeaway. Or ask your local if you can byob. Just this once like! Offer to share, that always helps…sláinte!
