Vicar Street is a great venue BUT…

They could do with getting a few craft beers in. I love the venue, it’s the perfect size, the sound is fantastic and I’ll never forget seeing Bob Dylan there. ( Oh I told you that one before, sorry about that!) The bar selection looks as if it has all been carted over from the nearby James’ Gate. I could’ve had a Smithwicks Winter Spirit but it’s May damnit even if it is wet and windy outside. In the end I plumped for a Kronenbourg 1664. It was inoffensive, innocuous and I am indifferent about it. I’m going to get in bother for that because some people I know like it!
The Drive By Truckers though, they killed it with their heartfelt, rowdy Southern Rock. Amazing band live.
