My good beer hunt led me to Holland’s of Bray yesterday evening. It’s a fine big pub and they do food all day. I began with a lovely pint of Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye and the chicken wings. Not a bad combination.
I had a great burger with a bucket of chips for my main. It was meaty, juicy and filling. Franciscan Well’s Rebel Red always goes well with grub.
Clonmel 1650 is the new lager from C & C/ Bulmers. It’s a pretty standard lager. Clean, refreshing and bland.
I was keen to get a look at the off licence next door. They have between 350 and 500 beers, depending on who you listen to.
G’wan try counting them! It’s an amazing selection.
I picked up a few very nice beers including Vote Sepp for future consumption. I also finally found a Spiegelau IPA glass! Now I just have to make sure it makes it home in one piece. You can get any of the beer from the Off Licence and drink it in the bar for a small fee. If I lived in Bray I know where I’d be holding Beer Club meetings! If you’re in Bray make sure to visit Holland’s!
