Work (my ‘real’ job) took me to Portlaoise today for a meeting. Later in the day I found myself across the road from Egan’s Off Licence. I’d heard about it on the social medias and reckoned it would be rude of me not to stop in and peruse their wares. They have a fine selection of Irish Craft Beer, both sides of the unit pictured above. They also have some pretty great beers from around the world. One or two caught my eye in particular but I’ll need a special occasion to spend twenty euro on a bottle of Deus from Belgium.
I did however bag me some of the newest offerings from Carrig and Trouble Brewing. More on those another day. The owner and manager were both in when I called and they were very chatty and helpful. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in Laois!
