Three Ales from Firestone Walker

I was glad to see Firestone Walker’s beers appearing on Irish Off-Licence shelves. I picked up Pivo and Easy Jack in O’Brien’s. The Pivo is described as a Hoppy Pilsner. I’d happily drink a hundred of them rather than another Hop House 13! If that’s a bit subtle for anyone, allow me to clarify, this is a decent, well made, enjoyable beer, HH13 is shite.

I had Easy Jack, which is a session IPA, with pork ribs. It was a little light and struggled to compete with the spicy rub but is very tasty in it’s own right.

…and this evening I enjoyed their DBA or Double Barreled Ale with a roast beef dinner. It was robust enough to hold it’s own with all of the meaty flavours. A beer to savour as the evenings draw in. I picked it up in Holland’s, Bray. Sláinte!
