You should always judge a book by it’s cover, that’s the logic I apply when visiting the library anyway. I’d like to think I’m a little more discerning when it comes to choosing beer… BUT when presented with an interesting label I’m often overcome by the temptation to try it!
McGargles Irish Family Brewers in Kildare claims never to have been established which is strange in itself. Their Granny Mary Red Ale is not bad. It’s pretty malty with only a small hint of bitterness from the hops. The only remarkable thing about it is the marketing. Their website tells you almost nothing but there is a mildly amusing video:
I would drink it again but only if there was nothing better available.
