Dublin’s Bison Bar celebrated their second birthday last night and Cathy the Manager was kind enough to invite me along. On entry you were given tokens which enititled you to a pint of Heineken or a Bourbon Lemonade. I was sat at a table with the Irish Beer Snob and Andrew Beoirfinder and our respective better halves so it was Bourbon Lemonade all round!
Prison Love provided a very suitable soundtrack for the evening, I noted that the washboard players nom de guerre was ‘Soapy’, which is fantastic! Oh and the grub? Well I have waxed lyrical about the barbecued treats on offer in Bison before, suffice to say we all left with our carnivorous needs satisfied for a few days! Thanks for having us along Cathy!
There was just time for a couple of beers before returning to the Midlands so four of us skipped up to The Brew Dock where we had some of their new Table Beer. It’s basically Of Foam and Fury’s little brother. It’s 3.5% and seriously quaffable, with enough grapefruitty hoppiness to satisfy any man or indeed, woman or lady!
And just to finish the night off in style I had one Of Foam and Fury. Not bad for a Wednesday night!
