A few of us made our way down to Don’s Bar to sample the many beers on offer.
Dave Bo Bristle was interested to see how their new Stout was going down.
Peter declared it to be ‘ …better than Porterhouse Porter but not as good as Arthur’s!’
We did some ‘blind tastings’ trying to catch out Dave and Eoin which was fun.
Trish was happily supping Bo Bristle and also enjoyed St Mel’s Helles Lager.
Some who will remain nameless ( Eh Laura) insisted on drinking West Coast Cooler, but you can’t win ’em all I suppose!
Darren enjoyed 8 Degrees Howling Gale Pale Ale and Keith was very impressed with the Bo Bristle Stout.
Sheep Stealer from Black Donkey was well received by Derek, our newest ‘Craft Convert’!
And I finished off the night with Galway Hooker’s 60 Knots. A great time was had by all and Don and Lisa were great hosts, they even supplied soakage! People of Athlone worry not, Athlone Beer Club will be taking place next Friday night, more on that tomorrow. Sláinte!
